Meaning of Life :-)

Once upon a time,

There was a Pipal Tree. Its name was 'Brahm'.

Big is a very tiny word for Brahm; It was a huge tree, Indeed.

So huge was this great tree that if i was standing under that tree & looked up, i would not see anything else but that tree alone.

Brahm had infinite branches growing on its massive trunk and from those branches there were more branches growing in all possible directions.

The highest branches touched the sky, they grew inside the clouds & made friends with them. One of these branch's name was 'Hiboe'.

Hiboe was a very happy branch. it had many branches & a brown skin & inside the skin there were many layers. Every year Hiboe had a new layer of skin growing on it. Every year in summer the previous skin would dry & shed off, to be replaced by a new green skin which would turn brown slowly.

On one of Hiboe's branches, there lived a family of 10,000 beautiful brown ants.

The oldest amongst them was 'Mraa'. Mraa had many sons & daughters.Those sons & daughters had many sons & many daughters. It was a big happy family.

The youngest in the family was 'Tink'. Tink was a beautiful male ant. He had a lovely wife. Her name was 'Chin'. They lived happily in a small cave. Tink & Chin worked hard to keep their family safe & growing. They cooked nice food from Hiboe's leaves. They had long conversations about their siblings & they laughed. They went to the edge of Hiboe, from where they could see the blue sky & the clouds. They went to the swimming pool on one of Hiboe's branches, to play with the water. They loved their life. The entire family was happy.

One day Tink & Chin returned from home. Chin saw that Tink was sad. So she asked him,"My lovely Tink, why are you sad?"

Tink said,"I am sad because Today i feel there is no meaning to my life. We work, cook, eat, laugh, enjoy the sky & the water, enjoy the colors. We love each other, but i want to know the meaning of our life. Why were we born? Is there any special work that i am supposed to do, Or i just keep fullfilling my antly & endless list of desires of work, food, laughter & appreciation of sky, water, color, leaves & many other things?"

Chin said,"My love, My dear Tink, I only know that I Love You. I love to cook when you are around. I enjoy the food when you are around, I laugh. I love to go for a walk with you to the edge of Hiboe, from where we can see the beautiful sky & plenty of new colors. I enjoy my life more because you are here."

Tink Smiled. They both laughed & went to sleep.

The next morning, Tink went to Mraa & asked him,"Our Dear Mraa, You are the oldest amongst us. Please answer my one question."

Mraa was smiling, even before Tink asked the question, & said,"Go ahead my dear Ant, ask me what you have in your Mind."

Tink asked,"Dear Mraa, please explain me the meaning of life. Tink says she doesn't know but she doesn't have to know because she loves her life with me."

Just as Tink finished, Mraa started laughing. He laughed so much that he fell on the ground & still kept laughing. Then slowly he stopped but he was still laughing, although he controlled it now & turned to face Tink & said,"My lovely Ant, Why do you want to know the meaning of Life? What will you do if you get to know the meaning of life? Our antly life is full of happiness. We have been provided with Love, all kind of interesting food, so many kinds of feelings e.g.- good, great, exciting, lovely, beautiful. We have been given a creative head, so We can create even more things to accomodate our growth & keep enjoying life with all our friends. What more do we need?"

Chin, in confusion, Said,"Dear Mraa, But if there is no meaning to something then it should not exist, don't you think its true?"

Mraa laughed again & this time louder & said,"But life is there. Its inside you & its inside me. Its inside everything you see & feel with your senses, So that means there is meaning to Life. We should thank the power of the Universe for giving us this life & live our lives the best we can. We should accept all colors of life & direct all our efforts in making this life better for us & all other Ants."

Tink, now relaxed, bowed, smiled & respectfully asked,"My dear Mraa, What if everything is only a confusion, there is no meaning of anything at all? What if there is no meaning to this Universe."

Mraa, patted Tink on his back lightly, grinned & answered,"My dear Ant Tink, The fact is that this Universe exists. That means there is a meaning to this Universe, Because nothing exists without meaning. Now, our brain is very small & too occupied with Antly Desires to understand the meaning of this Universe.  So you carry on with your life as you have been doing since you were born. Remember your childhood? Go & recreate it :-)"

Tink first smiled & then started laughing. He laughed so much that he fell on the ground & still kept laughing.

Tink, controlling his laughter, got up & walked back to his place smilingly. He continued enjoying everything that life offered him. He continued making his & other Ant's lives better. It was a big & happy family, Ever after.
